Though Harry wanted to find Severus and kiss him senseless, he decided against it. At least right away. His plan required some cunning because deep down he wanted more than just random kisses from Severus. Fortunately, even though he was a Gryffindor on the outside, he was a Slytherin at heart.
He took his dinner in his rooms and continued grading essays. He was halfway through the third years when he heard a knock on his door. "Come in."
Harry smiled when he saw one of his students enter. The boy reminded him of Draco; stubborn, arrogant, used to getting things his way, and he was even in the House of Slytherin. It took him weeks to break through Charles Nowell's defenses, and now the Slytherin considered Harry someone he could trust and befriend.
"Evening, Mr. Nowell. What can I do for you?"
"I was worried when you did not show up for dinner, sir." Charles sat down in one of Harry's plush chairs.
"Thanks for your concern, Mr. Nowell, but as you can see I'm alright." Harry raised his eyebrow. "Why are you really here? I've been known to not eat in the Great Hall."
Charles sighed. "Well, I have a problem and wanted to talk to you about it."
"I'm not your Head of House. You should go to Professor Snape for this."
"I know, but I didn't want to talk to him." He took in a deep breath. "It's...girl troubles, and it would be too weird to talk to Professor Snape about that."
"You do know that I prefer guys, right?"
He nodded. "I know, but I rather talk to you than Professor Snape." Charles went on a tirade about a Ravenclaw in his Charms class who flirted with him and always left him wanting more. "So what should I do, sir?"
While Harry was answering Charles, Severus was passing by his door and overheard voices. Two, to be exact. Severus immediately wondered who could be inside Harry's rooms. Not that he cared. He was just concerned over the young professor. That was why he went out of his way to take the long way from the Great Hall to his dungeons so he could pass by Harry's rooms.
He heard laughter drifting from the door and Severus decided to stop by. He knocked on the door and Severus was somewhat surprised to see his student Charles Nowell answer. "Good evening, sir! Are you here to see Professor Potter?"
"It's past curfew time, Mr. Nowell. Hurry to the Slytherin dorms or else I'll be forced to give you a detention with Filch." He noted with satisfaction as Charles paled and scurried away.
Severus entered Harry's domain and closed the door behind him. The first thing he noticed was that the warm colors of red and gold used to decorate the room. It was very...homey.
Harry was sitting in a plush chair reading a book, not bothering to glance up. "Who was at the door, Mr. Nowell?"
"Mr. Nowell realized that it was past curfew and so returned back to his dorms," Severus said.
Harry looked up and his eyes widened in surprise. "Professor! What are you doing here?"
"You weren't at dinner and Albus worried." Severus sat in the chair across from Harry. "Call me Severus. You are not my student anymore, no matter how young you look."
"Oh. Well, I'm fine as you can see. Severus, why did you kiss me?" Based on what he knew from all the years he had known his Potions professor, the man hated him. When Harry had kissed him the first time, he expected the older man to hex him or worse. Not kiss him back.
"Why did you kiss me first?" Severus answered back.
Harry blushed. "You know, you're a really good kisser," he blurted out.
Severus raised an eyebrow at the statement. "Really?"
Harry nodded. He got out of his seat and sat on Severus' lap, wrapping his arms around the Potions Master's neck. "I might be a bit forward, but I'm just dying to kiss you again." The kiss was very gentle and undemanding. He was exploring how far he could go and the contours of Severus' lips. Surprisingly, they were soft. Then the kiss turned hard and hot, and Harry felt like he was melting.
After a few minutes, Severus pulled away. "Is this how it's going to be then?"
"What do you mean?" Harry's words came out slow. Amazing what the older man's kisses did to him.
"I mean, you dunderhead, a snog here and there, and that's it? However you may think of me, Mr. Potter, I am not for a casual anything. So unless you are willing to go the entire way, kindly get off my lap and let me leave."
"Hey now, you came into *my* room first." Severus glared, causing Harry to sigh. "Only yesterday we were barely speaking to each other and now after a couple of kisses, you want us to be in a serious relationship. You're off your rocker."
Severus heaved Harry off his legs and smirked with satisfaction as Harry landed on the floor with a thud. "I'll take that as your final answer then. Good day, Potter."
"No!" Severus glanced at the wrist Harry had reached for and glared at the green-eyed boy.
"Let go."
"I won't."
"Don't make me hex you," Severus hissed.
"I would prefer it if you kissed me again." Harry leered and Severus was tempted to either hex him or kiss him. Preferably the one that would not land him in Azkaban. "Come on, you know you want to." Harry lifted Severus' wrist and licked his hand while never breaking eye contact with him.
Damn the boy. Severus pushed Harry against the wall and passionately kissed him. His arousal pressed hard again Harry's stomach as Severus reached to squeeze Harry's arse.
When he pulled back, he was thrilled to note that Harry's eyes were glazed over in lust. The kiss, he decided, was a much better choice than the hexing. During his mental smugness though, he missed the first part of what Harry was saying.
"What?"
"I *said* that was bloody fantastic, but I hardly know you enough to get into the serious relationship you want. Even if you are the best kisser I have ever met. Can't we compromise or something?"
"Such as?" Severus leaned forward and began nibbling on Harry's neck.
"Uh, dates perhaps...oh that's good...information like...yes!" Harry broke off and closed his eyes as he allowed Severus to ravish his body. "Wait, stop. You're...distracting me."
"That's the point. I'm afraid, Mr. Potter, that you talk too much. Now shut up so I can kiss you again." Harry gladly complied.
***
A couple of hours later, Harry was seated on Severus' lap with a teasing smile on his face. "What turns you on?"
"Well, right now, it would have to be a certain Gryffindor sitting on my lap."
"Since you answered my question, you deserve your reward." He wiggled back and forth, making Severus groan and kissed him hard, thoroughly.
"See, isn't learning about each other first much better than jumping straight into a serious relationship?" Harry said when their lips parted.
"I hate to say it, but I have to agree with you. My question." As Severus asked Harry about what his favorite sex positions were, he was inwardly pleased at the turn of events. The Boy Who Lived was *his* and he would never let him go.
