Snape mentally checked off his list of ingredients needed to make this month's batch of Wolfsbane potion, though he had done this process so many times that he had no need to do such a thing. Still, having a set routine helped ground him and give him comfort.

The last ingredient was something Snape improvised years ago and something no other Potion Master knew about. With the last ingredient, his potion was stronger with minimal after effects and more lucidity during the transformation. It was the reason why he was given the Ministry contract to create Wolfsbane on a larger scale for the masses instead of someone incompetent.

He pointed his wand at a simple looking wooden box on the counter of his workstation and cast a spell. Suddenly, beautiful violin music filled the air and Snape nodded in satisfaction before turning around. He began to work.

While the Wolfsbane bubbled nicely in his cauldron, the door creaked open. Snape did not bother looking up to see the identity of his guest. There was only one person who would dare to bother him while he worked.

"I see you are still lacking the basic rudiments of manners, Lupin."

Lupin snorted and walked further into the room. "I wanted to see you and I couldn't wait any longer."

Snape pinched his fingers in a bowl of white powder and tossed it into the cauldron, sparks flashing instantaneously above the bubbling liquid. "I am at a delicate process of this potion. Considering how expensive the ingredients are and who exactly this is for, I do not wish to start over because of your meddling."

Despite the harsh words, there was no heat behind them and Lupin grinned. "Love you too. Fine, I'll wait outside until you're done. I have two tickets to that Muggle orchestra you like so much for tonight's viewing."

As soon as Lupin closed the door behind him, Snape allowed himself the tiniest of smiles to reach his face.
