Through death, pain, Hell and high water (that wasn't an experience Sam wanted to deal with again), there was finally a moment to just breathe. Dean was alive, tucked in Sam's arms as he slept, and there was nothing in Hell, Heaven, or Earth that could separate them. Dean was his just as he was Dean's.
Sam inhaled his brother's scent, visions of the Impala, comfort, and warmth flooding his memories. Dean's scent had always meant home, even before Sam knew what it was. He knew now; it was in Dean's 'Sammys', his laughter, and his embrace. Dean loved him.
