Jared unwrapped the rope that kept his boat hooked to the dock and headed out to sea. The rest of the fishing village thought he was a worthless fisherman who couldn't catch anything to save his life, and perhaps that was true, but there was another reason why he returned at sunset without fish.
He stopped his boat near a cove far from the village and dropped anchor. Soon enough, his reason arrived and Jared smiled at him.
Jensen was a merman of extraordinary beauty that Jared had met one day. He'd been enthralled. He still was.
He grinned. "Hi."

Jensen reached up and pulled Jared underwater. The first time this happened, Jared had freaked and nearly drowned. Now he knew better, knew Jensen would never let him drown. Their lips met and Jensen sighed air into his mouth. It was an experience that Jared was unlikely to ever forget.
"My Jensen. Love you," Jared mouthed as tiny bubbles escaped from his lips.
Jensen blushed and swished his tail. His tail. Jared knew all too well how talented his lover was with that tail. There really wasn't enough merman stories out there that warned about the flexibility of a tail.

While he was underwater with Jensen, Jared would forget the passage of time on the surface above. He could only focus on the pleasure Jensen gave him, with his lips, hands, and tail. It was heaven, and Jared was infinitely glad he fell off his boat that one day long ago, because that was when he met Jensen.
A twinge of sadness ran through him even as Jensen curled himself around him. Despite all his visits, he would never be able to take Jensen with him.
Jared hugged Jensen to him. They would only have these few moments before parting.
