"You keep looking at me funny. Should I be worried?"

Dean shook himself out of his daze and focused on Lisa. She was chopping carrots at the kitchen counter and kept tossing worried glances at him. He took a long swig of his beer before answering.

"Sorry. My mind's been elsewhere."

"I've noticed." Lisa put her knife down and turned so she was facing Dean. "So what's up? You've been like this ever since you and Sam came back from Scotland. Did something go wrong while you were there?"

He shook his head. "No. We got Bobby's soul back and Sam enjoyed mocking my fear of flying. It was good all around."

"Uh huh, and the fact that you forced your brother out the door and made him mow the lawn is just random happenstance?"

Dean nodded sagely before taking another drink of his beer. "Exactly. See, this is what I love about you, Lisa. You know me so well."

"Right. I also know you're full of shit sometimes, and right now is one of them. Spill."

He didn't want to, not really. He'd already tried spilling his guts to Bobby over the phone and got reamed for his selfish behavior, and while they were on the plane to Scotland, Sam mocked him while he was barfing his guts out into a bag. Dean didn't expect either reaction from Lisa, but he was tired.

Lisa kept her gaze on him though and didn't return to cutting the carrots. When she arched her eyebrow, Dean sighed. "Fine. I think, I know Sam's been keeping secrets from me." He couldn't push the words "I can't trust him again" past his lips, so he didn't bother to try.

"Dean, get out of the kitchen and put up your feet in the living room. I've got a plan." She turned around and Dean was dismissed. He grinned and took his beer with him.

As he walked past the windows that opened to the front yard, he saw Ben talking animatedly to Sam as his brother pushed the lawnmower around. Dean could only hope Sam wasn't encouraging Ben to become a hunter. That was one of the last things he needed.

Dean did as Lisa asked, sitting on the couch with his feet propped up on the coffee table. A couple of minutes later, he felt Lisa's gentle hands on his shoulders as they began to knead the muscles there.

He groaned and tilted his head back. "Lisa, if this is what you had in mind, keep doing it."

Lisa chuckled and her hands slipped off of him before she came around to sit down next to Dean, legs tucked under her with her head resting against his shoulder. Dean shifted so he could wrap his arm around her waist and pull her in closer.

"You're a good man," Lisa murmured after some time. "I wouldn't have taken you in if you weren't. You're good with Ben and you're good with me. Remember that, buddy, because I don't want to have to tell you again."

Dean wanted to believe it, but he couldn't, not when he had made so many mistakes before. But he burrowed it down and pressed a kiss to the top of Lisa's head. "Consider it remembered."

"Good. Now I think in a couple of minutes, I'll call and order us some pizza instead of making dinner, and we'll have a marathon of those cheesy horror movies you love so much. I know Ben would enjoy that." She looked up at him. "What do you think?"

"That sounds good to me. Did you unpack my movies yet?"

"Not yet. They're still boxed up in the garage."

Dean nodded and gave Lisa another kiss before untangling himself and getting to his feet. "If Sam comes in before I get back, tell him the Impala could use a good wash."

There were many boxes in the garage and as Dean began opening them up, he saw that it was all of the things he didn't take with him when he decided to go back hunting with Sam. Before he had lived with Lisa and Ben, there wasn't much he could claim as his own, but he had collected quite a few things in a year. His golf clubs were here as well as some of his barbeque equipment. Some of his nicer clothes that Lisa made him buy so he wouldn't look so out of place in suburbia. Books that caught his eye.

He finally found his DVDs tucked away against the garage wall and pulled them out.

"You were gone for so long, I almost sent Sam out to look for you." Dean looked up to see Lisa leaning against the door frame with a smile on her face. "Got lost?"

"Something like that. Most of these boxes are mine."

Lisa nodded carefully as she stepped further into the garage. "Yeah. I wasn't sure if you were coming back and seeing your things around the house in that case would have been a downer. For both of us."

"I'm here now at least." He gave her a slight grin, though they both knew his time there was short. "So what do you say to a night of cheesy horror movies and pizza?"

"Sounds like a good date to me. Then again, I have pretty low standards considering the men I date." Her eyes glinted at her words and Dean took it as a challenge.

"Is that so, huh? How about I up the ante and make this a great date?" Dean crowded Lisa against a nearby wall, one hand curving over her hip while the other rested above her head so he could lean in. "I have a couple of moves you haven't even seen yet."

"I suppose I could be persuaded if I had a little taste." Lisa smirked up to Dean.

He cradled her face with one hand before dipping low to catch Lisa's mouth and kiss her. It'd been too long since he'd done this and he couldn't help but press her closer until she was forced to wrap her legs around his waist. As much as he wanted to rid themselves of their clothes and thrust himself deep inside her body, even though he'd been dreaming of making love to her for days, it wasn't the right moment. Not when Ben and Sam were somewhere in the house waiting for them to return. Not when he was still feeling so vulnerable and making love to Lisa would feel like he was just using her.

Dean broke the kiss, pausing to nip at Lisa's bottom lip before pulling away. "We should get back before Ben wanders in here."

Lisa sighed and unwrapped her legs one by one from Dean's waist. "Oh fine, work me up for no reason."

"Hey, it's not like you're the one who has to go out there with a hard-on." Dean adjusted the crotch of his jeans before offering his hand to Lisa. "Shall we?"

Lisa bumped shoulders with Dean as they walked into the house. "I have an idea about this date night of ours. After the movie marathon, there's no reason for you and Sam to leave in the middle of the night. So after I tuck Ben in and you make sure Sam's comfortable on the couch, you can head up to my room and we can continue what we were doing in the garage."

"Sounds like a plan." Dean squeezed Lisa's palm in thanks. He didn't know where he stood with Sam, but at least he could count on Lisa for this.
