Those words echoed through Sam's head, but the voice wasn't familiar nor did a face pop into mind. He just knew it was over.
He lived in a studio in an okay neighborhood, working as a paralegal at some fancy law firm, and most importantly of all, Sam Winchester was alone. He had no family, no loved ones. No one. Sam barely had his memories.
He'd been found outside a hospital, disoriented with no recollection of his past.
Sam struggled to build a life and he did. The only thing missing nowadays was love. He ached for love.
Sam saw the stranger one day as he ate lunch across the street. He wore a leather jacket and had short blond hair with striking green eyes. Sam felt his heart thumping wildly inside his chest as he couldn't help but stare. The man caught his gaze and nodded to him.
This spurred Sam to get out of his seat and head straight towards him. "I'm Sam." He held out his hand.
"Dean. You're looking good, Sam." Dean shook hands with him and Sam wanted to squirm with delight.
"Wanna go out on a date?" Say yes. Say yes.
The date was wonderful and the end of the night found Sam slamming Dean up against his door, mapping the inside of Dean's mouth with his tongue. He never knew such sensations existed and he wanted to keep kissing Dean.
Abruptly, Dean pushed him away, gripping Sam's shoulders. "Sam, we can't do this. We can't."
"Why?" Kissing made him bold.
The words 'It's over' flashed in his head and he knew exactly who the words belonged to. Something happened and Dean left him. Abandoned him.
"Get out of my sight." Knowing about Dean was worse than being alone.
Sam never regained his memories or understood why Dean told him something was over, but he was at peace with that. Dean couldn't stay away, dogging him at every turn until Sam relented. He loved having Dean in his life, but he wanted more than being just his brother. He wanted love and all that came with it.
While Sam struggled with what to say, Dean just did. He shoved Sam against the kitchen counter and kissed him senseless. "If you want this, we'll do it. Not like you remember me as your brother anyway," he said against his lips.
