Harry dove to the ground as a beam of blue light struck where his head had been. He groaned and looked up to see Snape scowling down at him. "If you're not going to do this properly, Potter, I have no use for you."
"What? Come on. I've been getting better."
"Marginally." Snape offered his hand and Harry took it, getting pulled to his feet. "Shacklebolt owes me big for your dueling lessons. Not that an Auror needs to learn how to duel."
"And what do I need to learn?" Harry glared at him.
"Besides manners? How to fight dirty."
***
Dirty was exactly what Snape taught Harry. Nothing that'd interfere with Harry's morals, but would keep him alive against evil wizards.
"You're no expert, Potter, but you'll manage just fine."
Harry wiped the sweat from his brow. "Victory. Now we can both get on with our lives without seeing each other again." Even as he said those words, he didn't mean them. Didn't want to mean them.
"Nonsense. I expect you here same time as usual."
Harry suspected Snape wasn't harboring a secret crush like he was, but he'd take it just the same. Anytime with Snape was good.
Victory.
