Author's Notes: This story kinda clears up what was
going on during All Halliwell's Eve when Phoebe and
Cole were together. At least I hope it does. ;)
Enjoy!
Phoebe mingled through the crowd, glancing around the festivities.
She was to stand watch while her sisters snuck into the house to rescue
Charlotte. It wasn't like she had her powers to use but at least she had
the items Sally gave her. Though a pumpkin and some dolls weren't what
you called very impressive.
"Care to know your future, milady?" She turned around and saw a
man walking up to her.
"Oh, no thanks. I'm pretty familiar with it already."
When she turned to leave, he called out. "Are you certain? I can
show you the first initial of your true love's name."
"Really? You can do that?" It sounded interesting and she didn't
have anything to do in the mean time. The man went behind a barrel and
picked up an apple.
"With a simple peel of an apple."
"Prove it." Another man walked up to them. He had shoulder length
brown hair and wore a black mask over his eyes. Phoebe felt a sort of
shock go through her when she looked into his blue eyes.
Tilting her head slightly, she asked, "And why would you be
interested, sir?"
He smiled. "And why wouldn't you be?" Oh my, he was flirting with
her!
He had her wandering through the crowd and felt an urge to talk to
her. The only time he felt that way was with Phoebe. Cole sighed inwardly.
The Charmed Ones were here somewhere but he couldn't get a good reading
on where they were. It must be because he was in a time before he was born.
He could still call on magic but his own powers were out of reach until
he returned to the present.
"Okay, how do I do it?"
The man gave instructions as he peeled the apple. "First you must
fill your heart with only thoughts of love. Then close your eyes and blow
on the peel. Drop the peel into the water and watch." He dropped the peel
into the barrel of water.
"And how is it that an apple knows this big secret?"
"It's simple, milady. Apples are the fruit of knowledge." He
couldn't stop gazing into her eyes. She was beautiful. But he couldn't
help but be reminded of Phoebe. Unless, this was a past life of hers?
The man watched the peel unfold and gasped. "It is C. The name of
your true love begins with a C."
They both looked into the water. Phoebe had trouble breathing as
she realized who her true love was. "Cole," she whispered.
Cole looked sharply at the lady next to him. How did she know of
his name? This was no past life, this was truly Phoebe Halliwell. Was the
apple right? Was she his true love?
Someone walked past Phoebe and bumped her. She dropped the
pumpkin that was hidden under her cloak. Ruth saw the pumpkin and
pointed at the lady who dropped it.
"Witch!" Ruth cried.
Cole stepped back. "No," he murmured. Phoebe had been found out
as a witch. Now these witch hunters would kill her. Kill her before he
found out if the apple peel was true.
One of the hunters ran over to Phoebe and searched her for more
witch items. Piper and Prue, who were waiting for the right moment to
sneak into the house, saw that their sister had been discovered.
"Uh oh."
"Phoebe." They ran towards her to try and save her. Ruth noticed
them.
"Those two as well." More witch hunters came and grabbed Prue and
Piper.
Ruth was rather pleased with herself. The stranger was a fool.
These girls had been caught by her men very easily. Nothing to worry about
from them at all. She turned to him. "There's your three. Hang them. Hang
them all!"
Micah stared into Prue's eyes. "My pleasure." He gestured to the
others to take the witches away.
Cole could only stare at the direction they were taken. Now Phoebe
would die. He pulled off his mask and tried to ignore the pain in his
heart. It was too late. Nothing could save her now. But still, he sent a
silent plea to anyone who could save Phoebe. He didn't know if anyone
could hear him but he hoped. Anything could happen on All Hallows Eve.
