Brian didn't take care of Justin. Justin was a big boy who could and did take care of himself. Brian loved that Justin was self sufficient, sometimes to the point of stupidity. If that meant Brian stepping in to help, so be it.
It didn't mean a damn thing in his book.
So when Brian got word that Justin's art exhibit was in danger of being canceled, he took it upon himself to pay the rent so that wouldn't happen. All without Justin finding out, of course.
Justin could handle anything. Brian just didn't want him to suffer unnecessary pain.
