The church was empty of souls that Tuesday morning, save one. She walked down the outer aisle, in a silky white dress that flowed behind her, and towards the rows of unlit candles near the altar. The light through the stained glass windows shimmered as Monica passed underneath them.

She reached for a book of matches near the candles and plucked a single match out, striking it against the back of the book with ease. Monica lowered the match to a white candle, lighting the wick. She smiled and blew out the match before turning around to greet the person behind her, as if she always knew there was someone there.

"Come to say hello, Gina? Or are you planning on stopping me? I saw you in a dream last night. You know there's nothing you can do that I won't see."

Gina folded her arms over her chest, legs slightly spread in a stance. She wore a long sleeved green shirt with black pants and boots, casual in a way that Monica's dress was not. Her dark curls were held back by a clip. "I'm not going to let you do this, Bellucci. It's not right."

Monica placed her hand on her chest and laughed. "Oh, Gina. You always were a riot. You have no power to stop me."

"Is that what you think?" Gina took a step forward when a flurry of movement in the shadows made her pause. Three figures stepped out into the light, rearranging themselves as human barriers between Gina and Monica.

Monica merely smiled. "I knew you weren't going to play so nice, so I brought some of my Valkyries with me. Let me introduce them to you. From left to right, Gabrielle Union, Megan Fox, and Navi Rawat. Ladies, say hello to Gina."

Gabrielle and Megan each gave Gina scathing looks while Navi gave a little wave, lightning crackling between her fingers. Gina clenched her jaw as she looked at Monica. "Don't think this is going to stop me."

"I know it won't. That's what I love about you, Gina. You never disappoint." Monica stepped forward and her Valkyries moved aside, still keeping a watchful eye on Gina as they let Monica through.

Monica stopped a foot away from Gina, head tilted slightly to the side. "I'm sorry it had to be this way, Gina. You and I made a great team. We could have gone so far together."

Gina scoffed lightly, rolling her eyes. "It was just sex, Monica. Nothing more, nothing less."

"It was more, until your morals got in the way of reality." She glanced back at her Valkyries. "We are the future. I'll let you live this time, for fond memory's sake, but the next time you cross me, I am going to let my Valkyries kill you."

Gina's hand flew forward and a loud noise cracked the air. The Valkyries' bodies were laced with tension, ready to attack and rend, until Monica raised her hand to stop them. She touched her reddening cheek as she looked back towards the emotionless expression on Gina's face.

"I always knew you felt, Gina, but you always kept it bottled up inside. Let's move out," she said, the last part to her Valkyries. She turned away and the Valkyries followed, leaving Gina alone in the empty church.

A few minutes later, Gina walked towards the lit candle, the only flame among darkened candles and bent low to blow it out. As the smoke rose upward, she straightened herself.

"You may be able to see the future, Monica, but that doesn't mean you're omnipotent." She slipped her hand into the jean pocket and took out a non-descriptive silver ring before putting it on. "And now, you'll never dream about me."

Gina took one last look at the church, quiet and peaceful, before heading out into the courtyard. She took a deep breath, mentally saying goodbye to fond memories that needed to remain buried, and took off in flight.

She had work to do.
